I believe that healing happens when we connect. The patterns shaping our struggles in life often develop in our relationships with others and our interactions with the world around us. We get stuck when we lose sight of these patterns or feel powerless to change them.
By examining our patterns together, we can uncover their origins, explore their impacts, and practice new, more rewarding ways of connecting with ourselves and others. In this way, therapy is a space not just for exploration and understanding, but for experimentation and change. My goal is for you to leave our work together with deeper self-understanding, thriving relationships, and a renewed appreciation for life itself.

Psychotherapy
-
My approach to therapy is informed by modern psychodynamic, humanistic, and feminist schools of thought. The therapy I provide is both trauma-informed and queer-affirming.
I’m deeply committed to transparency, collaboration, and humility in my work. As a counseling psychologist, I will honor your strengths and meet you with warmth, patience, and curiosity.
-
I’m trained as a generalist, which means that I have experience working with a wide range of concerns.
Concerns I often work with include: Anxiety and mood disorders, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, relationship concerns, gender and sexuality, domestic and intimate partner violence, self-esteem, self-harm and suicidality, and identity-related concerns.
-
I am in-network with Aetna, Anthem EAP, Quest Behavioral Health, Blue Shield of California, and Carelon Behavioral Health.
My out-of-pocket rate is $225 per hour. For clients using out-of-network benefits, I am more than happy to provide a super-bill and any documentation needed for insurance reimbursement. Please note that many insurance plans will reimburse a significant portion of out-of-network psychotherapy costs. I understand that therapy can be expensive, and I am more than happy to work with you to keep treatment affordable.

I am currently accepting new clients. I provide therapy to people ages 16 and up. My office is located in San Francisco, making me a good fit for clients from San Francisco, Marin, Oakland, Berkeley, and the Peninsula. I offer virtual therapy to clients located elsewhere in California.
I offer appointment times throughout the day, including early morning and evening times, so you can easily integrate therapy into your schedule.
In-person therapy: Tuesdays in my Pacific Heights office
Virtual therapy: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

Working with Insurance
Not sure about insurance? Insurance cards usually include an information line that you can call with questions. Here are a few questions you can ask to learn more:
What are my plan’s benefits for in-network vs. out-of-network mental health/behavioral care?
Does my plan have a deductible? How much is it?
Is there a limit on the number of therapy sessions I can attend in a given time period?
Do I have a copay or co-insurance responsibility?
For out-of-network: What is the “allowable rate” for psychotherapy with a doctoral-level psychologist? Is this rate different for telehealth appointments versus in person?
For out-of-network: What percentage of the allowable rate will I be reimbursed?
For out-of-network: What is the process for submitting out-of-network receipts (e.g., superbills)?
Uncertainty about using insurance is a common barrier to seeking help. I’m more than happy to help you navigate this process!
